Samsung carrier-free eSIM transfers with One UI 8.5!

Ana sayfa / News

One of the biggest headaches users have faced for years when switching from an iPhone to a new Samsung Galaxy phone is finally becoming a thing of the past. While you can easily transfer your data, having to contact your carrier to transfer your eSIM was a frustrating step. According to new leaks, Samsung is working on a tool that will eliminate this obstacle and allow users to directly transfer their eSIMs from their iPhones to their new Galaxy phones.

This feature, revealed by Android Authority’s review of a leaked version of One UI 8.5, Samsung’s next major interface update, has been confirmed with lines of code and screenshots. Just like Google’s Pixel phones, Samsung users will now see a new option in the Settings menu to “Transfer SIM from iPhone.” This feature will enable secure transfers directly between the two phones, eliminating the need to scan a QR code or contact a carrier.

According to leaked screenshots, the new menu in One UI 8.5 will clearly include the “SIM transfer from Galaxy/Android phone” and “SIM transfer from iPhone” options. This demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to winning customers over from its biggest rival, Apple, and its aim to make the transition as smooth as possible.

We may not have to wait too long to get our hands on this life-saving feature. One UI 8.5 is expected to be fully released alongside the Galaxy S26 series, the new flagship phone expected to launch in early 2026. Even more exciting, sources close to Samsung indicate that the first beta version could be available to testers in late November of this year. This means we may only have a little over a month left to be among the first to try this new feature.

There’s a slight snag, however: Just like with the Pixel phones, this feature may initially be limited to major US carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
